Our Process

List of 6 items.

  • Step 1: Visit Pinecrest Academy

One of the best ways to learn about Pinecrest is to come visit us!

Schedule a Tour: Come visit our beautiful 68-acre Catholic school campus in south Forsyth County. Call Admissions at 678-965-2066 or click the button to the right to schedule a tour.

Shadow a Student (open to grades 6th-11th): Pinecrest offers a Shadowing Program for students in 6th-11th grade. A Shadow Day, during which your student will visit our middle or high school and accompany a student for a portion of the day, gives a first-hand glimpse of a day in the life of a Paladin.

    Attend a Public Event:
You are welcome to any of our public events! Join us for football, volleyball, soccer, baseball, band concerts, drama productions, or art shows, just to name a few. We would love to see you at morning Mass each weekday at 7am during the school year. Complimentary tickets for any event can be obtained by calling us.
  • Step 2: Apply for Admission

At Pinecrest we understand and appreciate the importance of choosing the right school for your family. Once your family has had the opportunity to tour our school and you decide you would like your student to be considered for admission, please complete the online application (A non-refundable $160 application fee applies). If you are interested in applying for financial aid, please indicate this during the application procedure.
  • Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid (optional)

To apply for financial aid, please visit our Tuition Assistance webpage.
  • Step 4: Student Evaluation

To ensure we have a thorough understanding of your child’s abilities, we will review your student’s previous academic history. Depending on grade level, this will include transcript evaluation, standardized test review, and evaluations from current teachers and principals. All required documents must be received by Pinecrest Academy before the student evaluation can be completed.

A grade level entrance evaluation will be given to each student applying for admission. For Pre-K and Kindergarten aged children, the evaluation is merely a school readiness assessment. Students applying for admission to high school are required to write a short essay from a list of provided topics. Our admissions department will contact you to schedule the appropriate assessments and to assist you with requesting transcripts from your child’s current school.
  • Step 5: Parent & Student Interview

Enrolling in private school is a significant decision for a family. At Pinecrest, we want to provide an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have about your child's education at Pinecrest. The Parent Interview is the place to have those questions answered. During the interview, we will help you to understand our philosophy of education, what you can expect from Pinecrest and your responsibilities as a Pinecrest parent.

Students in grades 6-12 are required to attend an on-campus interview with the respective school principal. The student interview provides a time for the student to understand the expectations of a Pinecrest student as well as an opportunity for the student to freely ask any questions of the principal.

The Admissions Department will schedule the interviews. The interview process for both parents and students lasts approximately 30 minutes.
  • Step 6: Admissions Decision

The Admissions Committee will review all of the evaluation materials and will inform you in writing of their decision.
