Pinecrest Paladin Fun Run is Here!

The Pinecrest Academy Paladin Fun Run is Here!

Revised schedule: September 14th - September 21st.

The Lower School and Middle School Academic teams have been working hard to keep our student led fundraiser on the calendar, despite a two-day weather related delay. The Boosterthon Fun Run program was originally scheduled to start with Pep Rallies on September 12th and finish with the Fun Run on September 21st.

Revised schedule:
Pep Rallies on September 14th
Fun Run on September 21st.

Not even Hurricane Irma could dampen our Semper Altius spirit!

Our Fun Run is a student led fundraising effort to benefit the 2017-2018 Pinecrest Academy Annual Fund. Students are encouraged to ask for pledges per lap run or a flat donation. This is our students' opportunity to help their school by reaching out to extended family, friends, and neighbors around the country. The best part is they can have fun doing it!

The program emphasizes healthy activity, and supports our Virtue of the Month Program through their Knight Themed "Castle Quest" Character Program. Mr. Lynch, in the Lower School, and Mr. Allen in the Middle School, have communicated our Virtues of Orderliness and Charity with the Boosterthon team so they can emphasize them as well.

A percentage of the funds raised goes back to the Lower School and Middle School. Mrs. Flanagan will be asking her teachers for classroom projects to fund. Mrs. Cress will be taking a survey of Middle School students for their input on projects to benefit their school.

Everything is Online:
Our Pinecrest Academy customized Fun Run pledge site is up and running. Get started today! It's easy to register yourself and your students. Then you're ready to request pledges from potential sponsors by email, and social media sharing.

Visit FunRun.com. Parents are welcome to pledge, but the emphasis is on reaching sponsors we wouldn't normally reach. Sponsors are strongly encouraged to participate online with a credit card. (Tech tip: turn off your pop up blocker, then refresh your browser).

Pep Rallies:
The fun starts with Pep Rallies on Thursday afternoon, September 14th. Students will get information on how to participate, along with their pledge books. Pep Rallies are 20-30 minutes each and are an active, exciting way to start the program.

2:00 pm LS Pep Rally in the LS Gym
2:45 pm MS Pep Rally in the LS Gym

Boosterthon:
We are relying on our professional, high spirited, team from Boosterthon to make the Fun Run...well, fun! The Boosterthon team will be visiting Lower School classrooms and Middle School Lunches on 9/15, 9/18, 9/19 and 9/20 to keep the excitement flowing and to deliver the Character lesson of the day. The "Castle Quest" character lessons are: Focus, Self-Awareness, Respect, Trustworthiness, Creativity, and Life-long Learning

Fun Run:
Thursday, September 21st
Students may run up to 35 laps on a 1/16 mile track, so even the littlest Paladins can participate. The track will be set up on the Middle School field (in the Lower School Gym if it rains). Participation in the run is optional, but we hope everyone is inspired to help out.

Parents are invited to attend and cheer on their students!

Runs are 30 minutes each:
8:15 am -  4th - 5th Grade
9:00 am - K-3rd Grade
10:15 am - PK3 and PK4
2:00 pm – Middle School Run (MS Football players excused at 2:30 pm)

High School Volunteers
High School Seniors, selected by Mrs. Stafford, HS Dean of Students, will be on hand to cheer on their fellow students. They will also stay on the field to help pass out water, and help teachers as needed. (HS students will be excused for no more than two academic periods.)
