Justin Smith ‘22 traveled to Zimbabwe in January for conservation ecological research. He worked with world-renowned Oxford graduate and conservation biologist, Dr. Greg Rasmussen, at his research facility, the Painted Dog Research Trust.
Justin aided in painted dog population evaluations and conducted research on how the presence of tourists causes the abandonment of dens and subsequent death of young painted dogs. His time there was unforgettable, and he will be forever thankful to Dr Rasmussen for allowing him to aid in his research.
Justin attends Eckerd College in St Petersburg Florida, where he is a diversity leadership scholar and is double majoring in Marine Geology and Chemistry.
